3-D Wireless Power Transfer and Low-Power Communication for IoT



Typical IoT systems suffer from the limited energy capacity of each node and the high communication cost. To achieve long-term operation of IoT systems, (i) ubiquitous wireless power transfer (WPT), which delivers power to nodes placed anywhere in the room and (ii) communication architectures, which minimizes the energy consumption of the nodes are necessary. To provide these missing pieces, we developed a wireless power/data transfer system, which co-exists on the 3-D magnetic field channel generated by a room-scale quasistatic cavity resonator (QSCR).
