Alvus: A Reconfigurable 2D Wireless Charging System



We present a system that allows users to freely (re)construct a 2-D wireless charging surface. By simply placing our ready-made modules, we can add wireless charging capability to the surface such as desks, floor, and wall. This enables electronic devices to be charged anywhere on the surface.

Topology Construction Protocol for Wireless Power Transfer System with a 2-D Relay Resonator Array


The cost of deploying wireless power transfer (WPT) technology into products remains high, due to the made-to-order design process. To alleviate the engineering cost to adapt to each use case, a reconfigurable 2-D WPT system based on magnetic resonance coupling was recently proposed. This system dynamically obtains the topology of the modules via inter-module communication. However, stable communication gets difficult as the number of modules increases or other traffics co-exist. To overcome these challenges and construct a robust and scalable system, we proposed a topology construction protocol based on “in-band” communication.
